Part of a design team developing the next generation of programmable automation controllers based on a quad-core Cortex-A9 ASIC. Developed a 14-layer PCB with a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA to emulate the ASIC under development and provide a development platform for the software engineers. The PCB includes various PHY interfaces such as high-speed USB OTG, 10/100/Gb Ethernet, SD/MMC, eMMC, ControlNet, DeviceNet, BBUS, and backplane interfaces to 1756-modules. | |
Wrote RTL code to emulate the ASIC and wrote C/assembly code to verify the IP circuits in emulation behave per specification. |
